What is a country wine?
A country wine is an alcoholic drink, normally of typical wine strength (8-14% abv) made from any ingredient other than grapes. These ingredients typically are: Fruits, Vegetables, Roots and flowers / petals.
These are the wines that our grandparents and great grandparents would make and consume as they would generally have lack of access to commercial varieties of grape wine.
These ingredients are usually grown in your garden or allotment, or foraged or scrumped from woodlands, orchards, fields and the wider environment.
These days, it is perfectly acceptable to purchase the ingredients to make your country wine if you are not a keen gardener.
