We were visited by a health visitor today, who gave us a lot of encouragement and information about all the services available to us and the milestones that the baby is going to reach in the next couple of weeks.

This wasn't a planned visit, but as she was on the island anyway the midwife decided to pop in and check on the baby. She also got us registered with the local doctor's surgery!

Today we were visited by a midwife for the last time, which felt like we were closing a huge chapter of 2018 - there will be no more midwife visits! The sense of finality and completion that this signified left us feeling somewhat emotionally imploded. . .

I can't believe Ron is 1 week old today - the time is flying so quickly and my little baby boy was growing up so fast!

​We were visited by a midwife in the morning and a couple of friends who popped in later in the afternoon. 

It is James's birthday today and we had an exciting day learning many parenting lessons and having many first-time experiences, one of which resulted in an exciting present for daddy!

We have a baby! We are back home! And we are so much in love!

With emotions still high and a day of many new experiences, we slowly begin to figure out our new lives. We also put a little something aside for the future!

We have a baby! We are parents. . . Ronnie is finally here and we are so incredibly happy! Now we must leave the maternity ward and get back home, where a new life awaits.

You would think that after three days of utter frustration we'd be rushing to get out of the hospital. . . But today was a day of utter delight!
