It is Ron's first Halloween, but we didn't make a big deal out of it - we carved a pumpkin and watched scary videos. It was an emotional day however, as I realised that my hormones were causing me to see things in a negative light and I may need to talk to someone. Experience: First Halloween!

Ron woke up this morning and smiled with the rising sun! I am not sure if there were any birds perching by the doorstep (there might have been the duck and some chickens waiting for their breakfast) but the baby was feeling super happy - so much so that we heard the first happy baby giggles! Milestone: Baby giggles!
Today was my Granddad's 75th birthday and Ronnie is only 29 days old. My Nan was amazed at such an age gap between the generations and I have to admit it is wonderful! Parenting: Not a 9-5 kind of a job
The Halloween is fast approaching, the pumpkins were finally in the shop and James was excited to make some homebrew wine. Only this wasn't just another wine he was making, it was very special indeed - it was Ron's very first batch! Experience: First homebrew!
Lesson Learned: Better bedtime bath routine I know it's only October so you might say that it is too early to start shopping for Christmas presents - but we live on a remote island and things take a while to arrive. . . Now then, what would our baby like as his first Christmas present? It has to be something fun, grand, memorable and last a lifetime! Let's see here. . . Parenting: Choosing first Christmas present
The baby was crying for most of the day which made me glad that we have no neighbours but also got me feeling mentally exhausted. I am beginning to question my mothering abilities. Milestone: Sucking hands
First words! First words! First words!!! . . .
OK, OK. . . Maybe not quite the first "words" as such, but super exciting nonetheless as the baby attempts to communicate using his little baby noises!
Parenting: Ron's routine (1 month old)
Milestone: First words? "A voo!" Books: The Little Prince After watching a TED video about how unreliable our recollections can be and how easily memories can be manipulated and changed, I explore the concept of capturing memories in a form of pictures, videos and this blog and the effect this may have on my baby's recollection of his childhood. Milestone: Baby noises
Parenting: Capturing moments for the future If you had asked me a couple of weeks ago what made me truly happy I may have said a nice hot bath, good music, a nice meal. . . And whilst those things are still great, nothing makes me happier than hearing burps, farts and poops! Motherhood has really scrambled my brain! Parenting: First aid questions
Lesson Learned: Front facing swim in the bath! Left-over pregnancy hormones seem to be causing some trouble for my baby's skin, but they are also making me feel irritated and overwhelmed! Parenting: Stressed by change!
